What’s up, extempers!
As the local and regular national circuit season comes to an end, larger and higher stakes tournaments come around the corner: Tournament of Champions, Extemp TOC, NIETOC, NCFLs, and NSDAs. It’s the cycle of extemp, sleep, repeat… right? Sure it is.
No matter where you are in your preparation journey – I’ve certainly done more yapping than extemping the past weeks – we can conduct practice speeches all we want, but progress is only made when we refine our speeches based on feedback.
But, we recognize that large disparities exist between schools and resources when it comes to obtaining high-quality feedback on your speeches that actually helps.
So, the Extemper’s Bible is introducing a new initiative: a Speech Review Service! With this free program accessible to all extemp competitors, we aim to alleviate any obstacles barring extempers from getting the critique needed to improve. And by all means, we want you to continue doing what you’re doing well, but equally focus on areas for development.
And we will help communicate that to you! You can access our speech review service form here. You’ll submit your speech here with certain parts that you’d like us to focus on. You can expect to receive feedback from highly qualified national circuit competitors no later than 2 weeks after submission!
We have highly experienced and qualified national-circuit competitors reviewing your speeches, including Kate Liu (Exec. Director), Matthew Abrams (Managing Director), Kajal Parmar (Director of Outreach), Eric Qian (Director of Content), and Sahana Srikanth (Article Writer).
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at theextempersbible@gmail.com.
Good luck with prep for the rest of the season, and we look forward to reviewing your speeches!
Best,
The Extemper’s Bible
